Old Grey Whistle Twat

This time he's hankering after the sounds of the late 70's when whispering Bob Harris was king, with his eclectic mix of live music on the Old Grey Whistle Test, and Debbie Harry was busily doing everything in her power to confirm the teenage G.O.T. as frighteningly heterosexual.

Enjoy ;-)

My great grandad told me that the lead singer with a group called Blondie was a looker!

Actually GOT I had posters of her in my locker as a young (17) navy trainee. Alongside Jaclyn Smith.  Ahh the teenage hormones did run riot.  Now as a 49 yr old I wish I had just a few of those hormones left!!!   Still Mrs Specialone is happy with what she gets ;)

Hi G.O.T, ta for your message, back after a weeks enforced absence, your vid won't fucking play; probably got to load some codecs or somink. I used to worry about things like that but it will sort itself out eventually.

Your previous post prompted me to D/L some Adobe shite so now it's working. Debbie Harry was the only woman that my dad and I both fancied.

Ah happy days! Has it made me happy or sad to think back to then?  A bit of both.
Anyway, not like the androgenous useless fuckers who whinge on these days. Bono? Fuck of back to your tax haven and stop preaching! Coldplay? What the fuck is that about? What have we got these days!? Lady Bloody Gaga!
(Sorry - needed a brief rant to shake me out of my reverie!)
Happy Sunday

Great to hear you're back, Banned. I was beginning to get a bit worried but I'm glad you're all sorted and on top form again. ps give that hard drive of yours a good kicking from me ;)

She certainly bridged the 'male lust generation gap' for a while and, right now, I can't think of anyone else that has since ......

Don't start me on that bunch of warbling wankers, and their ilk, who do nothing but ponce around the world stage ordering us to save the planet and kiss the whales ... and shit.

Rather hoping to take it easy ...... like a Sunday morning ..... today ;)

"Back Street Luv" anyone?

Well .. tis like this .. Pan's People came to visit HMS Intrepid, whilst we were in refit in Devonport Dockyard (1969) ..

Where they were invited to partake of a "Tot" in the RM Barracks (Messdeck) onboard .. which is the "bedroom" I mention .. (not exclusively mine, as I had to share it with 59 other hairy-arsed Booties) ..   ;)

There are some photos of the event (not taken by me) floating around the net somewhere ..

Dear God, I don't know who'd be in more danger - the "Booties" or Pans People!

Captain Haddock said...

I'll tell you this much, I'm quite happy to admit, I wasn't the only one to get "Plums" that day ..   ;)

Tarts drank our "Tots" .. then buggered off to the Wardroom (Officer's Mess) for Lunch ... never to be seen again ..

Talk about "Seen-off, Royal" .... >:o

"Teenager in the late 70's" - That might make me a few years older than you....

I'm sure I had a picture or two of Ms Harry pinned up on the wall, and some of Jaclyn Smith, who I always thought was the best of the Angels. About the same era that those "Cotton Picking" Dukes Of Hazzard were smashing up Dodge Chargers, and Daisy (Catherine Bach) was wearing impossibly tight denim shorts...

One picture that didn't make it onto my wall (but is hiding in one of our albums) is of me sitting on my freshly rebuilt motorbike, with hair down around my sholders. Couldn't do that now even if I wanted to....

"<span>Adobe shite" - seconded, banned.  Good to hear you're back with us. Why Flash Player needs so much computer resources is a bone of contention, I can download a video and play it with VLC and it only takes a fraction of the CPU power...

You jammy bastard Cap'n!

Oh yes JP, how could I have forgotten her.
Gorgeous!
One of my all time favourite tracks too and many a time I have thought about using it for one of my videos. You can guess the subject matter, I'm sure, which is why I have refrained. Didn't want to ruin a great song ..... forever ;)

GrumpyOldTwat said...

Fuck me yeah, I can just about remember having long hair too. Nowadays I'd just be glad of finding some ;)

Cherry Gillespie was my favourite ..

I'd have leopard-crawled two miles, over broken glass .. just to sniff the exhaust of the van, which took her knicks to the laundry ...   :-D :-D :-D
