The Brokeback Coalition

David Davis has been overheard by reporters repeating a description of the partnership between David Cameron and Nick Clegg as "The Brokeback Coalition", a phrase which he attributed to Lord Ashcroft.

Rather entertainingly, I thought I would remind you that, Davis is the much heralded hero and ex boss of conservative blogger Iain Dale. Oh, the irony of it all. Standby for the inevitable fat poof hissy fit, anytime soon ......

You've surpassed yourself again with photosoft. Your next task is to use "The Gimp" ;)

Believe me, I've tried to use The Gimp but every time I go to use it I just can't get this image out of my head .......

I was a fan of DD until this sad comment of a guy who missed out on the top job and a future fortune. One thing about the two cowboys in question is certainly they have an excellent and some would say enviable collection of notches!

"I wish I could quit you".  Luv the pic

If his political career wasn't fucked before, it certainly is now. Hell hath no fury like an MP scorned, eh ;)

GrumpyOldTwat said...

Excellent caption, Bunnikins, spot on!

David Davis? Remind me - isn't that the bloke that stood for the leadership and lost and then wasted all that money on a pointless by election?
Sounds Welsh too - so most likely a twat...

GrumpyOldTwat said...

Yes, that's the bad loser of a twat!

Captain Haddock said...

Sorry guys but I have to admit to being a DD fan too ..

Just have a read through his Wiki entry ....   http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Davis_(British_politician)

He's far more in touch with ordinary people than Cameron or Clegg will ever be ..

He's lived a life in the real world, as opposed to the cosseted one of wealth and privilege .. And one can hardly refer to someone who passed "Selection" & was "Badged" SAS (albeit the TA part of that Regiment) as a twat ..

With regard to the "Brokeback" thing .. well, let's face it, neither Cameron or Clegg come across as being strong leaders .. in fact they come across very much as being weak & ineffectual ..

GrumpyOldTwat said...

No need to be sorry Cap'n, you make some good points there ;)

Captain Haddock said...

No mate .. you're thinking of David Davies .. different fish altogether ..  ;)

Captain Haddock said...

I think if DD started a break-away Party of his own .. the Tories might see a very significant drop in their membership ..

There are plenty of disillusioned, disenfranchised people out there, who would normally be natural Tory voters ..

I'd be one of them.

Good stuff from DD.

Oh dear, do keep up Mrs Dale  ;)

I've published a comment on Iain's blog linking to this page. I'd be very surprised if it makes it through moderation. ;)

My only thought on the Brokeback Coalition name is simply this. Who is shafting whom?

Could I suggest another caption?

Cameron - You alright Cleggie my dear?
Clegg (for it is he) : No, my arse is red raw, you bassstard

Hey Killemall
I don't know how the fuck it's happened but the comment you left earlier hasn't appeared here but it did in the Blogger system. (which I still run in the b/g as a back up). So have taken the liberty of a cut and paste with a screen cap of your original  ....

Haddock - full marks. DD is a top bloke, in my view.

Gotty, I love the "How VERY dare you?" piss take.

Dale will be choking his chicken over that one!

GrumpyOldTwat said...

I have a feeling that there'd be plenty more like you. At least he seems to have a bit of backbone!

GrumpyOldTwat said...

He means anyone other than that offensive twat, G.O.T. ;)

GrumpyOldTwat said...

He may be a 'bloke' Grim but he always strikes me as being a little short on balls ;)

GrumpyOldTwat said...

No need to ask ... just get stuck in!
btw, 9/10 for the caption. It'd have been 10s if you had managed to squeeze in the phrase "use my arse as a cunt". ;)

Captain Haddock said...

My own feeling GR is that the pair of them are shafting the rest of us ....

And for all their wealth, "genteel" upbringing etc .. neither has even had the decency to consider using lube !!!

Barking Spider said...

There are a lot of disenfranchised backbench Tory MPs as well - they'd be off like a shot to join a "real" Tory party - even the UKIPpers might want to get involved with a party like that - then Cameron's wet Lefty Conservatives can merge with the Right wing of the LimpDumbs and the loony Left LimpDumbs can fuck off and join Labour...... where they belong. ;) :-P

I think that you might mean who is "top" and who is "bottom".

Davis is hardly original with the movie pun - do you remember Brokeback M'Oaten when that sicko perv MP was caught? But it's funny though, especially because it's true.

Captain Haddock said...

Mark Oaten .. another LimpDumb ...

I think the original useage of "Brokeback" with regard to this pair of wonks can be attributed to Richard Littlejohn in the Daily Mail ..

The Grim Reaper said...

That I do, yes. In a sense.

Dale didn't publish the link to this page. Sensitive old soul that he is...

GrumpyOldTwat said...

I haven't been able to sit down for the last 5 or 6 years and the way it's going I ain't gonna be doing it much in the next 5 either ;)

GrumpyOldTwat said...

Quelle surprisé!!

GrumpyOldTwat said...

ASE - That image still is and always will be a classic ;)

Cap'n - Yes, I seem to remember that too!

Oh I dunno, I think this is a sharp move by DD, that mud's gunna stick... the media were waiting for a nickname to brand them with. It's not like DD's got any other choice but to position himself in case the coalition's crack widens.

rinky stingpiece said...

I totally agree. The one thing the country desperately needs is a proper private sector friendly and public sector hostile party in terms of economics, that genuinely builds a bonfire of laws and bureaucracy, totally decentralises the money and politics back to local areas.

Fuck it, I want a party that will promise to turn the UK into a Switzerland, and will team up with Norway and Switzerland to kick the liviing socialism out of this country for good - treat it like fucking cancer.

All we've got at the moment is three fake parties that are three subtly different shades of Labour, a BNP that's another shade of Labour, and an Antiques Roadshow UKIP, and a few bits of shit that are not remotely organised or coherent. The choices are as piss poor as the TV channels or the football these days.

I think the same would be true for Labour (the idea of a real Labour party breaking away from the current "thing"), except they've got the BNP doing that job. So there's definitely a gaping space in the market or ecosystem for someone like DD to do something genuinely interesting (and take Hannan with him).
