Gordon Brown staying as PM is damaging the country. If GB resigned as PM (not as leader of the Labour Party) and asked the Queen to find a new government, DC would be the one asked. DC then becomes PM as he tries to build a coallition with the LibDems. If he fails, he can stay as PM of a minority governement. If the Tories then get a vote of non-confidence then we end up with a 2nd election.
In the mean time there is more stability with DC as PM than GB because with GB there is no knowning what he will do and the markets don't like him anyway. Did anyone see the chart showing the value of Sterling dive when he announced he was staying as PM? GB is staying for vanity's sake when it should (according to convention and constitution) be DC as interim PM.
