Lord Turdburgler of Cesspool has made a nice few quid as backhanders from the Bilderbergers.

Shyster.

It's all bollocks - there is already a programme available that redirects you through a third party server so the ISP can't tell who is connected to the downloading site.

And I'll bet there's a pirate copy of that out there somewhere too...

You may well be right Dioclese but I have been sent a screen grab of an official deletion notice on YouTube, which happened only 2 days ago.

To be honest, Government quangos have been removing vidoes at will from YT for some time, I have also had a couple removed, but this new Bill has nothing to do with Music copyright and everything to do with 'New Media', censorship.

Please read Kata's post via the link in the above post, if you haven't already, it explains it all rather well ;-)

Btw, congrats on your new blog. Some great stuff on there and I've added it to my blogroll ;-)

I fear Proxy services such as TOR will quickly become overwhelmed by the volume of traffic, if everyone starts using them to try and avoid various internet controls.

Much as I dislike TalkTalk and Tiscali who they took over, if a few more big players took the same stance it would do far more good. Even Liebor wouldn't be daft enough to try and close down large chunks of the UK's internet. When the masses discover they can't get online, they might finally realise what's going on...

"Spyblog" have several guides to help with anonymous blogging etc - look under "Hints and Tips for Whistleblowers and Political Dissidents" on the lefthand sidebar:

There's some more comments from other ISPs and interested parties here:

http://www.thinkbroadband.com/news/4209-internet-industry-attacks-new-draconian-Internet-law.html

From O2 having a dig at the entertainment industry:

"The internet has brought about profound changes to the way we all live and work. New companies and industries have been created, and many long established companies have embraced the internet and are thriving in the new digital age. Others have found out the hard way what happens when you fail to move with the times.

It may sound harsh but that's life in a market economy and that's what happens when a technology revolution takes place. Some people vainly try to prop up the old system - like the luddites who smashed up the mechanical looms during the industrial revolution - while others recognise that change is inevitable and adapt to a new model."

That's sounds quite tough wording compared to the normal speil you get from companies :)

I don't understand, was it a photographer whos copyright was infringed? It says the original text content infringed copyright though!

Did the Labour Party seek permission from the copyright holder of the Robert Glennister/ Audi Quattro photo before they photoshopped it and posted it. Did the Conservatives also seek permission before they posted their version? Or is that not the same thing as we have here?

@ N S MD - Of course they didn't, but they are untouchable, remember....
