Say No To O2 ++ Updated ++

A fully fledged campaign, spotted on the EU Referendum blog, is now up and running to persuade O2 to disassociate itself from the people that made the 10:10 No Pressure video. The first entry on the website is from Nigel Farage MEP, who writes:

"O2 claims to believe in "Social Responsibility", their website proclaims "O2 is striving to be a company that matches its fresh thinking with an equally clean and ethical approach to the way we go about our business". So can it be possible that it associates itself with 10:10 whose No Pressure campaign advert jokes about blowing up people who disagree with it?"

  1. Well done Mr GOT. Although I don't know a facebook from my monkish arse, I have managed to join! I now confidently expect to be placed on the register of "dangerous and socially disruptive" citizens who will be monitored by the Powers That Be! However, I will not be daunted! When the Men in Black come to reprise their previous successes (see under Princess Diana and David Kelly) I shall meet them fearlessly; a humble citizen, armed only with a stout heart, the courage of my convictions, two barrels of red, 60 Marlboro light, and a bottle of 12 star metaxa! :( :-E

Oh, and this handy military spec pump action shotgun and my trusty Sig Sauer 9 mm parabellum....  ;)

  2. In addition, the O2 website has a 'blog' that I came across the other day, It had a thread about the 10 10 bollox but only two responses (both negative) but I can't be aresed to go searching for it again just now.

  3. <span>Like the drunk lawyer, wotsiname, done to death by plod in "aelf defence" according to todays news. Don't get me wrong Gildas, I applaud your passion but the Met at least are not taking any prisoners.</span>

  4. I hesitate to say this (because I never thought I would say anything like it in my life) but the Met may find that a well-armed, implacable - and hitherto respectable - member of society may not be disposed to take prisoners either if they don't buck their ideas up.

I'm with Gildas. Especially if he's got some 12 star Metaxa kicking about the place... "I have no weapons; I come to you with only karate - empty hands..." would that do, Brother Gildas?

  6. Just in case the pedants pick up on my mis-quoting of Ed Parker's words, here is the complete creed (recited by Kenpo people the world over - before kicking seven colours of shit out of each other. It's all very moving...)

“I come to you with only Karate, Empty Hands. I have no weapons, but should I be forced to defend myself, my principles, or my honour, should it be a matter of life or death, of right or wrong, then here are my weapons, Karate, my Empty Hands.”

And, if all else fails, a shotgun a Sig, or even a snooker ball in a sock. Taser your way out of this Big Boy....

  7. The o2 press office told me at 16.30 today that they would be carrying on with their sponsorship of 10:10.

  8. http://forum.o2.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=53364

It includes a poll on O2 pulling out of the campaign.

Currently (7/10/10 19:35) 63% yes, 25% no, 13% can't say as they haven't see the video. However the numbers are only 5, 2, and 1 respectivley.

Mention was made that a previous message on the 10:10 campaign was deleted from the forum, so O2 are doing the same as 10:10 in removing posts that criticise them.

  10. Wise words my son! For is it not said in Leviticus 15, verse 22:
"Come and have a go if you think you're hard enough"

  11. Actually, for those who are interested, in terms of military shotguns, this is what I have in the cupboard...

  12. <span>Not as learned as you re: Leviticus Brother Gildas, but I was thinking less about cleanliness and more about a bit of smiting hip and thigh (</span><span>Judges v15 v8 perhaps?). I bow, as always, to your judgment in these matters.</span>

  17. Just saw Harry and Paul on BBC iPlayer. In it Mr Psycho Bean can't get into a lift because it's full. He solves the problem by lobbing in a grenade. Job done, he gets into the blood splattered lift. Hilarously funny. Now that is how to blow up people in a funny way.

  18. Good work, but care to have a look at the font resolution on the NoToO2 page? It won't resize. Ta.

  19. Cheers Prodicus ... do you mean on the NoToO2 website itself? That's not actually my site. Or do you mean the No2O2 badge above? All my graphics here should re-size OK .. unless I've cocked up somewhere, of course ;)

  20. Sounds good ..... any clips available? Don't think my dongle will stand a visit to the iPlayer, it'd take forever ;)

  26. Well, well what a suprise .... if all else fails resort to traditional lefty values and delete the truth that hurts instead of facing up to what the public really think.

  27. Christ on a trike, I thought I'd stumbled upon some bible discussion forum or other until I saw "<span>For is it not said in Leviticus 15, verse 22:  "Come and have a go if you think you're hard enough"!</span>

Yet more wise words from Brother Gildas ;)

  29. This seems to be GarethRice - although he doesn't appear to have updated his LinkedIn since he left Panasonic.

Maybe he still has the same mobile phone number though:

    <span>07894 786768</span>

He certainly bigs himself up on his profile though..... does the reality match the hype I wonder?

  31. Can you not put this on the front of the film with an explanation that Sony and Kyocera have pulled out, but O2 have not.  Then put it up on youtube so when people see teh film they see your poster.

Also send a link to all the MPs and envirojournos.

  35. One of these badges will sit nicely with my Boycott Nestle one. Nestle is worse, as babies actually die and children are used as slave labour.

Consumers need to realise their power. Think Gerald Ratner!

In other words a true green eco authoritarian lefty. He probably thinks the video is a laugh and doesn't see the connection with Muslim extremists who do the same thing - blow people up.

  38. You wonder when these companies that so enthusiastically dived into the green corner to try to gain some competitive advantage will start to question such a profile.

Especially on the back of eco-fascist exposure of Climate Gate, Splattergate, the general hypocrisy of climate leaders and ongoing dissemination of the facts.

My local Sainsbury's was to put up pointless wind turbines up in its carpark - pure show - thought better of it.

This whole 'you're with us or against us' business is a real turn off, particularly when you look at the provenance of these people. Though, I could be wrong and they really do know better and are right to tell me how to live my life...

    Naaah!

  41. Was at a group lunch at the EU on Thursday and Nigel Farage and Gerrard Batten were there. We were a dining room full of UKIP members but they wouldn't let us bring in bombs - some sort of airport type securiety before we got in.

Nigel looked pretty good considering he hasn't fully recovered.
